Elon Musk’s transgender daughter no longer wants the last name of her famous father.
TMZ elon–musk-daughter-name-change-transgender-court-filing/”>reports Musk’s daughter, who was born male, has filed legal documents to officially change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. As for the reason for her name change, Vivian, 18, maintains that she does not want to be related to Musk “in any way, shape or form.”
“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she said, per TMZ.
Vivian’s new last name will that of her mother’s, Canadian author Justine Wilson, who was married to Musk from 2000 to 2008. The couple had six children together: Nevada, who died of sudden infant death syndrome in 2000; Vivian and her twin brother, Griffin; as well as triplet sons Kai, Saxon and Damian.
Vivian’s hearing on the name change is scheduled for Friday.
While neither Elon or Vivian have publicly acknowledged the latter’s sexuality, Musk has acknowledged his support for the transgender community. Back in December 2020, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO tweeted, “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”
The news arrives just a few days after Musk was hit with a $258 billion lawsuit over allegations the tech mogul and his high-profile companies “are engaged in a crypto pyramid scheme by way of Dogecoin cryptocurrency.”
The lawsuit was filed by Keith Johnson, who looks to represent a group of investors that allegedly incurred losses from trading in Dogecoin since 2019. Johnson is seeking $86 billion in damages, in addition to triple damages of $172 billion, while also requesting that Musk stops promoting the cryptocurrency.
The complaint claims that “since Elon Musk and his corporations SpaceX and Tesla, Inc. began purchasing, developing, promoting, supporting, and operating Dogecoin since 2019, [the] Plaintiff and the class has lost approximately $86 billion in this Crypto Pyramid Scheme.”
